Couples Therapy After Betrayal

Two people, two very different kinds of pain, one decision to make together.

Couples therapy for healing from sexual betrayal, all with the goal of building marriage 2.0

You're both still hurting, and you're hurting in ways that keep colliding.

One of you is living in trauma responses, checking, replaying, bracing. One of you is buried in shame that keeps coming out sideways. Left alone, this turns into the same fight on a loop: one pushing for answers, one defending, nothing resolving, both of you more alone than before.

This work is for couples navigating sexual betrayal in its many forms, including affairs, chronic infidelity, compulsive porn use, secret sexual behavior, hidden sex work or paying for sex, and sex addiction.

What I hear from couples who land here:

  • Every conversation about it turns into a fight or a shutdown

  • One of you needs to talk about it, the other needs it to be over

  • Trust is gone and neither of you knows how it could come back

  • You're not sure if you're trying to save this or just too scared to end it

I'm Kris Cristiano, LCSW, CSAT, and PACT trained. I don't run couples sessions where people come to unload on each other. If you want to yell, you can do that at home for free. I’m here to help couples build something new.

In my room, we build skills so you can talk differently, fight differently, and actually move forward. I'll always take the side of truth, safety, and accountability. I won't ask the hurt partner to minimize what happened, and I won't let the betraying partner dodge responsibility. That balance is the only place real repair happens.

I'll be direct with both of you. That's the point.

The Plan

Request a free 15-minute consultation

We’ll talk about what you're each looking for, why now, and what you're hoping for.

Assess and stabilize.

Through individual and joint sessions, we get a clear read on where things stand, contain the acute crisis, and set boundaries that make real work possible.

Structured Repair

Using the tools learned in individual therapy, you will learn to attune to each other, heal wounds, communicate, and see if a new relationship is possible.

WHERE THIS LEADS

Right now: the same fight on repeat, no trust, no traction, both of you exhausted.

With work: you can talk about the hurt without it blowing up into a fight.

Sometimes that decision is rebuilding. Sometimes it's ending things with honesty and care instead of more damage. I'm not here to push you toward either one. I'm here to guide you both so you can decide from a clear and steady place.
